The different types of CBD oil
As you can see from our range of CBD oils, you can choose from dozens of bottles of CBD oil. In addition, it is also possible to use CBD extract or CBD crystals to make your own CBD oil. To make a good choice here, it is important to know that CBD oils differ mainly in two areas: the percentage of CBD and the type of CBD extract it contains. When looking at types of CBD extract, there are three options:
- Full spectrum
- Broad spectrum
- Isolate
Full spectrum CBD oil
The most potent CBD oil is oil based on full spectrum CBD. Full spectrum CBD oil is made based on a CBD extract obtained through cold CO2 extraction. This way, all active substances from the cannabis plant remain in the CBD oil. Full spectrum CBD is also rich in cannabinoids such as CBC, CBN, CBG and THC (always less than the legal maximum of 0.05%), terpenes, flavonoids and phenols. The strength of a full spectrum oil lies not only in its rich composition, but also in the synergistic effect of the various cannabinoids: namely, they reinforce each other’s effect, according to the so-called entourage effect.
When to choose full spectrum CBD?
- You want to take maximum advantage of the synergistic effect of all the components in the cannabis extract.
- It is not a problem for you to ingest a small amount of THC.
Broad spectrum CBD oil
Broad spectrum CBD oil is made in a similar way to full spectrum CBD oil. The difference is only an extra step, where the THC is completely filtered out of the CBD extract. This therefore leaves an extract rich in all the active ingredients from the cannabis plant, except the THC. So with broad spectrum CBD, you also benefit from the entourage effect, although to a slightly lesser extent due to the lack of the THC.
When to choose broad spectrum CBD?
- It is important for you that the CBD oil does not contain THC at all.
- You also want to take advantage of the entourage effect.
CBD isolate
CBD isolate comes in the form of crystals and is made by isolating the CBD from the cannabis plant. CBD isolate is 99.6% pure and is completely free of THC and other active ingredients. You dissolve this pure CBD in oil or other foods to make your own CBD products. It is also possible to take the pure CBD directly under the tongue.
When to choose CBD crystals?
- You want to make sure you are not ingesting THC.
- You want a pure product that contains no active ingredients besides CBD.
- Also nice when you don’t like the taste of CBD oil.
Different percentages of CBD in oil
In addition to the type of CBD, you also have a choice when looking at the CBD content. For example, we offer 5% CBD oil and 10% CBD oil, among others. The higher the CBD content, the more powerful the effect per drop will be. In this area, we recommend beginning users start with a low to medium percentage, i.e. 2.5%, 5% or 7.5%. This will allow you to dose accurately and you will not easily accidentally take too high a dose (not that too high a dose is dangerous, but too strong an effect can be perceived as unpleasant). Have you taken CBD before and know what dose you need at a time? Then varieties of CBD oil with a CBD content of 10% to 25% are nicer: you don’t have to drip as much and on balance you are also a bit more economical.
