What is CBD oil for cats?

CBD oil for cats is composed especially for cats: a lower concentration of CBD, no THC and a salmon flavour. The active constituent is cannabidiol (CBD). Unlike most CBD products for people, CBD for cats is made from isolate rather than full spectrum, which means it contains 0.00% THC. The CBD is mixed with salmon oil, which makes it tasty for most cats.

How do you give your cat CBD oil?

You can put drops of the oil straight into your cat’s mouth, but many cats do not appreciate that. It is easier to put the drops over the cat food. Start with the 2% oil and give one drop three times a day. Every cat is different, so build up calmly and see how your cat responds; you can move to the 4% oil later if you like. Unsure, or is your cat on medication? Then consult your vet.

Frequently asked questions about CBD oil for cats

Is CBD safe for my cat?

Cats are, like dogs, more sensitive to THC than people. That is why our cat oil is made from CBD isolate and not from full spectrum: it contains 0.00% THC, externally tested and certified. So never give your cat CBD oil meant for people, because that often does contain a fraction of THC. If your cat is on medication, consult your vet first.

How much CBD oil do you give a cat?

Start with the 2% oil and give one drop three times a day. Every cat is different, so build up calmly and see how your cat responds. You can move to the 4% oil later if you like.

My cat will not take the drops. What now?

That is entirely normal. Most cats do not like having drops put into their mouth. Put the drops over the cat food instead. Our cat oil is mixed with salmon oil, which makes it tastier for most cats.

Will my cat get high from it?

No. CBD is not psychoactive, and there is no THC in it.

Can I simply give my cat dog oil?

Better not. The cat oil has a lower concentration, matched to a cat’s body weight. If in doubt, have a look at CBD for dogs to see the difference, or ask us.

When is it better not to give it?

Do not use it with pregnant or nursing cats. If your cat is on medication or has liver or kidney problems, consult your vet first.
