What is coenzyme Q10 good for?

This is exactly the question the longevity and supplement market makes big promises about, and those promises are precisely what is not allowed. No health claims have been approved for coenzyme Q10 within the EU. If you come across a webshop telling you exactly what coenzyme Q10 does for you, it is overstepping the mark. What we can tell you: what coenzyme Q10 is, where it occurs naturally and how you use it. What you want from it is up to you.

What is the difference between ubiquinone and ubiquinol?

Those are two forms of Q10. Ubiquinone is the oxidised, stable form that the body converts into the active form itself; ubiquinol is that active form. This supplement contains ubiquinone.

Why do people top up Q10?

Q10 is a compound the body makes itself, and that own production can change over the years. Some people choose to top it up, often from middle age onwards. What it does, we may not claim.

What should you look out for?

If you take statins or blood thinners, consult your doctor before using Q10. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult first as well. Keep the tub out of reach of children.

Coenzyme Q10 200 mg ubiquinone

Q: How and when do you take it?

One capsule every other day, with a meal containing some fat, because Q10 is fat-soluble and is absorbed better that way.

Reviews

Coenzyme Q10 is a classic in the cupboard of anyone thinking deliberately about ageing. This is ubiquinone, the stable form, with 200 mg of pure Q10 per capsule. For anyone who wants to top up Q10, often from middle age onwards.

What is coenzyme Q10?

Coenzyme Q10, also known as Q10, is a fat-soluble substance found in virtually all body cells. It occurs in two forms: ubiquinone (the oxidised form) and ubiquinol (the reduced form). This supplement contains ubiquinone, a stable form the body can convert itself. You produce Q10 yourself, but that production can change over the years, which is why some people top it up. We may not claim anything about what supplementation does exactly; no EU claims have been approved for it.

Quality and origin

The Q10 is selected and processed according to strict standards, including GMP and HACCP, and every batch is tested for identity, purity and stability. The capsules are plant-based and free from gluten, animal ingredients and synthetic colourings and flavourings.

Sustainable packaging

The Q10 comes in a plastic-free cardboard tube made of 100% recycled paper, in keeping with an environmentally conscious approach.

How do you use it?

Take one capsule every other day with water, preferably with a meal containing some fat, because Q10 is fat-soluble. A fixed moment makes it easier to stay consistent. If you use statins or blood thinners, consult your doctor. Stick to the recommended amount.
