This oil is made especially for dogs, and differs from CBD oil for people in a few respects. It is the entry-level strength: 2%, about 0.8 mg CBD per drop. Many owners use it around stressful moments such as thunderstorms or fireworks, or with an ageing dog. We cannot promise what it will do for your dog; start calmly and see how your dog responds.
Why a separate oil for dogs?
Three things are different from an oil for humans. It contains CBD isolate, more than 99% pure CBD without other plant compounds, so 0% THC. That matters, because dogs are more sensitive to THC than people. The carrier is a mixture of hemp seed oil and salmon oil, which gives the flavour most dogs accept well. And the strength is lower (2% or 4%), matched to a dog’s smaller body weight.
How do you give it?
The easiest way is over the food or on a snack, because most dogs take it that way by themselves. A commonly used rule of thumb with the 2% is one drop three times a day per 5 kilos of body weight. Start carefully and build up step by step. Is your dog on medication or has a diagnosis been made? Then consult your vet first, because CBD can affect the breakdown of certain medicines.
Quality and origin
