What is the difference between CBD and CBG?

CBD and CBG are both natural cannabinoids from the hemp plant, but CBG is a kind of building block: other cannabinoids, CBD among them, form out of the acid version of CBG as the plant matures. In a fully grown plant little CBG is therefore left, which makes a concentrated CBG oil relatively special. About what CBD or CBG does in the body we may make no statements.

This is exactly the question many webshops make firm promises about, and those are precisely the promises that are not allowed. No health claims have been approved for CBG in the EU. What we can tell you is what CBG is, how much of it is in the oil and how you use it. What you want from it is up to you.

How many drops do you take a day?

This 5% CBG oil delivers roughly 2 mg of CBG per drop, with about 250 drops in the 10 ml bottle. A usual approach is a few drops a day under the tongue, and to see from there what suits you. Use the instructions on the packaging as your guide.

Is this a full spectrum oil?

Yes. Besides CBG this oil also contains CBD and other natural cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids from the hemp plant, with a trace of THC below 0.05%. It belongs to Wedihemp's Raw line.

What should you look out for?

As with CBD, CBG can influence how your body breaks down medicines. If you take medication, consult your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, do not use it. Keep the bottle out of reach of children.

What is CBG?

CBG, or cannabigerol in full, is a natural cannabinoid from the hemp plant. In the plant, CBG acts as a kind of building block: other cannabinoids, including CBD, are formed from the acid form of CBG as the plant matures. That leaves little CBG in a mature plant, which makes a concentrated CBG oil relatively special. This oil is full spectrum, so alongside CBG it also contains CBD and other natural plant compounds, with a trace of THC below 0.05%.

Where it comes from

Wedihemp was formerly called Medihemp and comes from Austria. The brand grows its hemp on its own land, some 400 hectares beside a lake in Austria, together with local farmers who work organically. The soil is free from pesticides and herbicides and the plants are EU-certified. The cannabinoids are extracted using cold CO₂ extraction, without chemical solvents. Every batch is independently tested for cannabinoid profile, THC content, heavy metals, pesticides and microbiology, and you can request the test reports from us. This oil belongs to the Raw line.

How do you use it?

Shake the bottle briefly and place a few drops under your tongue with the pipette. Let them sit there for 60 to 90 seconds before swallowing. Every drop delivers about 2 mg CBG. Start with a few drops a day and see how that works for you. If you want to use CBG alongside your usual CBD, you can take them separately. Store the bottle upright in a cool, dark place.
