What is nicotinamide riboside good for?

This is exactly the question the longevity and supplement market makes big promises about, and those promises are precisely what is not allowed. No health claims have been approved for nicotinamide riboside within the EU. If you come across a webshop telling you exactly what nicotinamide riboside does for you, it is overstepping the mark. What we can tell you: what nicotinamide riboside is, where it occurs naturally and how you use it. What you want from it is up to you.

What is a NAD+ precursor?

NAD+ is a compound present in almost every cell of the body and involved in many processes. A precursor is a compound the body can make NAD+ from. NR is such a precursor, alongside NMN among others. This is a popular subject in longevity science, but approved claims do not exist.

What is the difference between NR and NMN?

Both are NAD+ precursors you come across in longevity circles. NR (nicotinamide riboside) is a form of vitamin B3; NMN is a related compound. This product contains NR in the stable chloride form.

One capsule a day with water, preferably with a meal, at a fixed moment so you do not forget it.

What should you look out for?

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking medication, consult your doctor first. It is an addition to a varied diet. Keep the tub out of reach of children.

Reviews

Nicotinamide riboside is one of the names you come across as soon as you look into longevity. This is NR-CL, the chloride-stabilised form, 300 mg per capsule. A form of vitamin B3 and a precursor to NAD+. For anyone experimenting deliberately with this kind of compound.

What is nicotinamide riboside chloride?

Nicotinamide riboside, often abbreviated to NR, is a natural form of vitamin B3 that occurs in small quantities in cow’s milk among other things. NR-CL is the chloride-stabilised variant, used for its stability. It is one of the so-called NAD+ precursors, alongside NMN among others. NAD+ is a substance that occurs in the body and is involved in many processes; its availability can change over the years. This type of vitamin B3 is on the rise within longevity science. We make no statements about an effect on health; no claims have been approved for it within the EU.

Quality and origin

The NR-CL is selected and processed to strict standards such as GMP and ISO, and every batch is independently tested for purity, identity and the absence of unwanted substances. The capsules are plant-based (HPMC).

Sustainable packaging

The NR-CL comes in a plastic-free cardboard tube of recycled paper, reusable and biodegradable.

How do you use it?
