What is Shilajit?
Shilajit, sometimes also called mumijo or asphaltum, is a dark, resinous substance that occurs naturally in the Himalayas and other high mountain ranges. It is formed by the centuries-long breakdown of plant material between the rock layers, and naturally contains fulvic acid, humic acid and more than 84 minerals. In traditional systems such as Ayurveda, shilajit has been used for centuries. No health claims have been approved for shilajit within the EU.
Shilajit in a handy sachet
Where resin is dosed with a spoon, each honey sachet is already precisely measured. You squeeze it into a cup of warm tea or water, stir it into your muesli, or take it straight from the sachet. The shilajit extract comes from the high-altitude regions of the Himalayas, harvested at at least 2000 metres, and is standardised to a high fulvic acid content of 93%. Each sachet contains 400 mg of extract.
Quality and origin
Shilajit comes directly from the rock, and can naturally contain heavy metals. Testing is therefore not a luxury but a necessity. Shilafit has every production batch checked in European accredited laboratories for purity, the exact fulvic acid content, the geographical origin and for safety, including heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium and arsenic and microbiological contaminants. That is exactly the kind of testing you want to see with shilajit.
How do you use it?
Take one fennel honey sachet daily, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach. Squeeze it into warm tea or water, stir it into your muesli or take it straight. Let boiling water cool slightly before you add the sachet, so the natural compounds are preserved as well as possible.
